butterflies

Today we let the butterflies go after Sadie got home from school. Her friend Drew came over to watch them fly away. Some of them flew far away and others stayed right in our yard.
Sadie took them into school on Wednesday and was so excited to show them off to her friends. Afterwards they read "The Hungry Little Caterpillar."
We had such a great experience watching them grow from tiny little caterpillars to very large ones then into cacoons and butterflies.

Wishing for warmer weather. It has been so rainy we have not been able to go out and play for almost a week now. The girls are getting so couped up inside.

Leah's birthday is about a week away. I am really hoping for great weather on her birthday and for her party.

moms day

Had a great Mother's Day weekend. We went to Eastern Market on Saturday morning. We got out meat, and lots of fruit and veggies. the girls got to pick out candy at the Rocky Peanut Co., they love that place. Afterwards we went down to Campus Marshus and relaxed in the sun. We picked up some Jimmy John sandwiches and ate down by the river. they liked walking around and looking at the giant buildings. Sadie couldnt believe that the Detroit River was a river and that there was another country across the river.
Mother's Day was at our house, everyone came over and we barbequed shish kabobs. The girls had a great time playing with their cousins. then we celebrated Grandpa Bill's 65th birthday!

easter fun

The Easter bunny was real good to the girls this year. They got a ton of candy and fun things to play with. They had a lot of fun Easter morning finding eggs and trying to find their baskets. Sadie could not find her basket for a while. Mom had to help her by suggesting it might of been left outside. When she opened the curtains she found her basket.
We went to my Grandpa's house for Easter dinner. My aunt and uncle were in town with my two cousins and it was great to see them. We have not had Easter at my Grandpa's house in years so it was so great to be able to be there again.

Birthday Party

Sadie had an awesome time at her birthday party last Saturday. She saw all of the work that mommy put into the decorations, cupcakes, cakes and cookies and she really appreciated it. She was so excited to get to play with her friends and run around at the clubhouse. She got some real nice presents from everyone and has been having so much fun playing with them ever since.

6th Birthday

Sadie turned 6 on Tuesday. I still can't believe that she is six already. Leah was very excited for Sadie to wake up on her bithday, she had a card and her gift ready for her. She got Sadie a stuffed animal cat, Leah calls it Bow. Sadie loved it and they have been fighting it over it since she opened it. I took Sadie to the mall to Build a Bear for her birthday. She picked out a cute bear to go along with the bear she already had. She had fun stuffing it, putting a heart in it and then picking out its clothes and of course naming it. Her name is Callie. In the evening we went to IHop for dinner. Sadie got French Toast and Leah got Pancakes and eggs. It was fun and Sadie got a giant sundae for desert! Sadie wanted to hurry home to open more presents and eat cake.

Sadie celebrated her 6th birthday at school with her friends today! She was so excited to have all of the attention on her. They sang to her and ate cupcakes. Leah and mom were able to come celebrate with her. Leah just loves it at Sadie's school. Afterwards I helped the class do their math homework.
